Get the inside track

Thanks to its outstanding equestrian center, champion equestrian team, and esteemed equestrian studies program, SCAD is a key stop in the equestrian world. The university regularly hosts American National Riding Commission and Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competitions, as well as events like the United States Hunter Jumper Association's Trainers Symposium. Through these opportunities, you will gain firsthand experience with training, production, judging, and horse show management.

Learn from accomplished equine professionals

SCAD equestrian courses are led by faculty members who actively compete in events around the U.S. The university also hosts visiting professionals, including internationally acclaimed riders, judges, trainers, veterinarians, and horse show managers, who offer exclusive master classes, deliver inspiring lectures, and network with SCAD students and equestrian athletes.

A championship culture

At SCAD, the only art and design university with an equestrian studies degree program, education and athletics are intertwined. The academic program is complemented by a nationally recognized equestrian team that has won more American National Riding Commission championship titles than any other university since 2002. From the art of competition to the science of horses, SCAD students are immersed in the equine world from day one.
