From now until your first day of class, we've tailored a unique experience just for you, where each step is designed to prepare you for life as a SCAD Bee and connect you with valuable resources. 1Online orientation

Student works in SCAD Atlanta

Every new student is required to complete the online orientation before arriving for their first day of class. You’ll access it using your MySCAD login so you can track your progress on the platform. You’ll find information on everything you need to start your SCAD journey off strong: academics and student success, technology support, student life, university safety, community standards, and so much more.

International students

International students have additional required and optional sessions and activities to maintain immigration compliance, acclimate to live in the U.S., and excel academically.

This is the last stop on your SCADbound journey! From the moment you move in to your first day of class, you'll discover a suite of events design to welcome you to SCAD, connect you to fellow students, and set you on the path to success.

Fall move-in dates

Move-in dates are staggered. Review your student email for your exact move-in date and time. Students must adhere to this timeframe.

Welcome week schedule

To access your Welcome Week schedule, you must complete the online orientation.

Here's some of what you can expect during Welcome Week:

  • Events that help you find your hive, including games, karaoke, trivia, movie nights, and more
  • Opportunities to explore SCAD fitness centers, museums, and departments
  • Wellness programs focused on caring for your mental, emotional, physical, and social health
  • Workshops on time management, study habits, goals-setting, and resiliency
  • Opportunities to learn how to navigate the SCAD bus system and using your meal plan

Check your SCAD student email regularly for your assigned move-in date as well as other important updates.

  • Submit your photo for a SCAD ID
  • Pay any outstanding balances
  • Review your housing info
  • Explore the SCAD app
  • Request a parking permit
  • Check your SCAD email

Bee Prepared for SCAD

Excited about what's to come? New students and their families can get an early look at life at SCAD with the Bee Prepared information series, a suite of brief videos diving into student success, resources, on-campus living, wellness, and more.

Office of disability resources

All reasonable accommodations are determined for students on an individual basis. In order to receive academic adjustments and/or reasonable accommodations, students must make an appointment with an accommodation specialist each term to make their specific accommodation requests known. All current students have access to their account through SCAD Accommodate in MySCAD. Students are encouraged to provide documentation of their disability.
