Make career-launching connections with the SCAD Casting Office

The SCAD Casting Office — the only on-site, professionally run casting office in higher education — connects SCAD students to film and television productions in Georgia, New York, Los Angeles, and beyond. Located in both Savannah and Atlanta, the SCAD Casting Office offers a gateway to career-defining opportunities for students in front of and behind the camera, as well as year-round mentorship for students with studio executive aspirations.

A network of experienced leaders

SCAD School of Film and Acting dean Andra Reeve-Rabb is the visionary behind the SCAD Casting Office, opening the first casting office in Savannah in 2009 soon after arriving at SCAD. Reeve-Rabb, who Variety named one of the top entertainment educators in the world, leverages her experience as the former director of primetime casting for CBS, including on hit shows like The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, CSI, and more. In Savannah, the casting office is assisted by SCAD professor of acting Mikie Heilbrun, who joined SCAD in 2019 after an extensive career in film and TV casting, including as an executive for The CW/UPN and on such TV shows as Riverdale, Gossip Girl, Jane the Virgin, Carnivale, NYPD Blue, and Spin City. In Atlanta, the casting office is assisted by SCAD professor of acting Alpha Tyler, who brings nearly three decades of experience as a film, TV, and commercial casting director. Tyler began her casting career in Los Angeles, working as an intern on James Cameron's epic Titanic, and has also worked on productions in New York with Spike Lee and in Atlanta with Tyler Perry.

"A casting office at the university level is a game changer. It is the connecting point between our talented students and industry professionals, and between actors and filmmakers."

Andra Reeve-Rabb, SCAD School of Film and Acting dean
