Admission and application
Tuition covers the cost of the extraordinary opportunities a SCAD education provides in the virtual classroom and beyond. SCADnow online tuition is the same as the university's physical locations around the globe. Advisers are available to answer any questions you may have regarding tuition, fees, and available financial aid.
Tuition and fees

Application fee: $100
One-time enrollment fee: $500
SCAD annually publishes tuition and fees to attend for one academic year.
Undergraduate tuition and fees
Above tuition and fees reflect direct costs students may incur during the academic year. However, students should expect additional indirect costs not billed by SCAD. To view an estimated cost of attendance for one year, including expenses not billed by SCAD, visit our cost of attendance page.

Financial aid provided
Approximately 80% of SCAD students receive financial assistance, such as scholarships and grants, to help offset the cost of education.
Scholarships
Scholarships may be available based on academic achievement, financial need, or a combination of the two for both United States citizens and non-U.S. citizens. SCAD students receive more than $90 million in scholarships and grants each year to help offset the cost of tuition.
These are just a few of the scholarship opportunities available to SCADnow students:
- SCAD academic scholarships: Amounts vary between $1,500 and $12,000
- SCAD achievement scholarships: Amounts vary between $1,000 and $7,500
- Educator scholarships: Half the cost of tuition
- Military scholarships: Amounts vary and may be matched by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- SCADnow online pre-college scholarship: Up to half the cost of tuition for joint enrollment while still in high school
Additional financial assistance may be available. All incoming students are encouraged to review and take advantage of these opportunities.

Portfolio requirements
SCADnow online applicants may submit a collection of their best work to be considered with their application materials, but a portfolio is not required to begin an application.

Orientation information
All new SCADnow online students attend an online orientation session designed to familiarize them with the layout and navigation of the SCADnow learning platform. SCADnow online students receive further support through live virtual drop-in sessions.

Start with SCAD joint enrollment
SCAD joint enrollment gives eligible high school students ages 16 and older a chance to finish many of their foundation studies classes online through SCADnow online, putting them on the fast track to an acclaimed degree from The University for Creative Careers.
