Outside of the virtual classroom, SCADnow online students benefit from a wide array of student services and academic resources that serve as a link between traditional university locations and online students living around the world.

Counseling services
The office of counseling and student support services provides individualized assistance to help students succeed both personally and professionally. The office provides creativity and life coaching as well as accommodations for students with a documented disability.

Administrative services and staff are available to help students take advantage of university resources and put themselves in the best position to succeed.
Easily accessible library and textbook resources
Virtual library
SCAD's virtual library offers access to numerous electronic databases and print materials to support the university's curriculum. Jen Library's online services include full-text resources, e-books, queries to the library reference staff and interlibrary loan services. Upon request, Jen Library staff may send materials to students who are not located on a SCAD campus via priority mail at no charge. In addition, the Visual Resources Center provides students access to more than 600,000 digital images.
Textbooks
An online bookstore is available for ordering supplies, textbooks and software via MySCAD. SCADnow online students may also purchase textbooks from Ex Libris, the college bookstore, which allows visitors to search for textbooks by class.

Undergraduate advising
The office of student success and advising is committed to undergraduate student development. Success advisers help students develop educational plans and career goals and relate these goals to academic offerings. Professional staff and faculty advisers assist with course selection and professional development on a regular basis and help guide students toward fulfilling the requirements for graduation and creating a successful and enriching educational experience.
Graduate advising
Graduate academic advising provides comprehensive guidance and support that aids graduate students as they navigate their academic programs at SCAD. Advisers collaborate with professors and staff to provide each graduate student with the curriculum and resources to fulfill their higher education requirements.
SCADextra, Academic Resource Hub
SCADextra provides academic assistance resources, referrals, and services to enrolled SCAD students. Visit the SCADextra portal to explore available services, register for future workshops, view recordings of past workshops, and to book your next appointment.
