Transferring your credits
Once a student applies to become a student at SCAD, an admission adviser will have the student's transcripts evaluated to determine which courses will transfer and how much college credit will be awarded.
Transfer credits
After a transfer applicant is accepted for admission, official transcripts showing completed collegiate coursework are evaluated by the admission office to determine whether the student may be granted advanced standing.
British AS-level
British Advanced Subsidiary Level examinations include a level of achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
DANTES/DSST credit
Within the Department of Defense, voluntary education programs are offered through DANTES, Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support.
International Baccalaureate credit
Transfer credit may be awarded to incoming first-year or transfer students who participated in the International Baccalaureate program and have attained a certain level of achievement.
Advanced Placement credit
Students who have taken Advanced Placement courses while in high school may qualify for college credit.
Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination
The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination indicates a level of achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
French Baccalaureate credit
French Baccalaureate examinations from the French Ministry of National Education are well established and internationally recognized.
Italian Maturità
The Italian Maturità exams indicate a level of achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
British A-level
British Advanced Level examinations indicate a level of achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
College-level Examination Program
The College-level Examination Program is administered through the College Board to provide documentation of college-level achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
German Abitur credit
German Abitur credit is well established and internationally recognized. The seven-year Gymnasium program leads to German Abitur credit that provides documentation of achievement that may qualify a student for advanced standing.
Military transcripts
The American Council on Education (ACE) maintains military registries with applicable ACE credit recommendations as a resource for colleges and universities.
