Parking

Parking is available to the SCAD community throughout the Atlanta and Savannah locations. To park or use a vehicle on SCAD property, be sure to register your vehicles. Student parking permits are free and validated for the full academic year (fall through spring).

Check MySCAD for more information about parking locations, permits, regulations, parking tickets, vehicle registration, and visitor parking passes. For security reasons, do not leave items of value visible in parked cars.

Parking in Atlanta

In Atlanta, parking is available in the parking deck of the SCAD Atlanta main building to students, staff, and faculty. Resident-only parking is available at FORTY FIVE. Visitor parking is available at the north and south areas adjacent to the SCAD Atlanta building.

Bicycles and motorcycles are to be parked in the parking decks only. Bicycles must be secured to the bicycle racks located near the second-floor parking deck entrance to the security station. Motorcycles must park in vehicle parking spaces within the deck.

Parking in Savannah

Due to the historic locations of most SCAD Savannah buildings, parking is limited on university property. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize the convenient and extensive SCAD transportation system rather than driving their personal vehicles. First-year students who live in residence halls are discouraged from bringing vehicles to the university. All students living in the residence halls are permitted to have only one vehicle (e.g., motorcycle, car or truck) on the university grounds at one time.

Metered parking

City meters vary in allotted time from 15 minutes to 10 hours. Some non-metered parking is available south of Bull Street toward Forsyth Park and on other nearby streets. Parking meters are free 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and on Sundays (8 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Monday).

Electric vehicle charging

SCAD offers electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at several parking locations in Atlanta and Savannah.

SCAD Atlanta

  • FORTY FIVE garage, 1470 Spring St. NW
  • SCAD Film Studios Atlanta, 1611 W. Peachtree St.

SCAD Savannah

  • Indian Street Garage, 645 Indian St.
  • The Hive garage, 121 W Boundary St.
  • Oglethorpe House, 201 W Oglethorpe Ave.
  • Montgomery House garage, 3515 Montgomery St.
  • Sand at Victory garage, 1 W. Victory Dr.

EV charging rates

First four hours: $0.85 per hour
After four hours: $2 per hour

Special events

University events may interrupt routine parking patterns. During any special event or SCAD activity, transportation and parking services will control parking lots in conjunction with the SCAD University Safety.

Failure to heed instructions of transportation and parking services officials will result in the issuance of a citation and possible towing.

All valid permits issued by the office of transportation and parking services are honored.
