Device setup
Do I have to enroll in the Mobile SCAD Card program?
Incoming students will be required to use the Mobile SCAD Card.
Students who are unable to access the mobile ID due to lack of NFC capabilities on their device, limitations due to region within the app store, or lack of smart phone device will be issued a physical SCAD Card upon confirmation by card office staff.
Who is eligible for the Mobile SCAD Card??
Students, faculty, and staff are eligible as long as they meet all device and software requirements.
New students and employees will be directed to use the Mobile SCAD Card.
Current SCAD Card holders may continue to use their physical SCAD Card. However, if they activate their Mobile SCAD Card, the physical SCAD Card will automatically deactivate.
What name will be on my SCAD Card?
The SCAD Card will display your name according to MySCAD, whether your legal name or preferred first name and last name.
Can I have both a physical SCAD Card and a Mobile SCAD Card?
No, you must choose between a physical SCAD Card and the Mobile SCAD Card.*
*If you are living in Oglethorpe House you will keep a physical SCAD Card to enter your room.
What's the difference between a physical SCAD Card and the Mobile SCAD Card?
The Mobile SCAD Card provides a more seamless experience at all university locations. However, both are official university IDs and are accepted everywhere.
How many devices can be associated with my Mobile SCAD Card?
Apple device users can add the Mobile SCAD Card on two devices (one iPhone and one Apple Watch) that share one Apple ID. Android users can add one device.
What happens if I get a new device?
For iOS devices: Remove your mobile credential(s) from your Apple Wallet or by accessing it through your iCloud account if you no longer have the old device. You will then be able to log into the SCAD app using your SCAD credentials to activate your Mobile SCAD Card on your new device.
For Android devices: If you have your old device, deactivate your credential via the Atrium Campus Connect app and delete the app. Contact the SCAD Card office to have your old credential removed from your record. Then, download the Atrium Campus Connect app and activate your mobile credential on your new device.
What if I can't find the Atrium Campus Connect App in the app store?
Android: If you do not find the Atrium Campus Connect app in the Google Play store on your phone, reset the region to the United States. Please note, changing the region may impact other functionality on your phone. Read the details and proceed with caution.
Using Mobile SCAD Card
What do I do if my device (Mobile SCAD Card) is not pairing with the reader?
The NFC (near field communication) antenna must directly face the reader to activate the Mobile SCAD Card on your devices successfully. The NFC antenna location varies by device manufacturer and model. If you are not sure where the NFC chip is located, use the links below to find your device and the NFC location:

What do I do if my device is lost/stolen?
If your card is lost or stolen, deactivate your ID to prevent any misuse. Contact the SCAD Card office during business hours to deactivate the ID and obtain a new card.
If after hours, contact the SCAD Department of University Safety at 912.525.4500 to mark your card as lost or stolen. SCAD students living in university residence halls who have misplaced their ID after hours may contact the on-duty RM for further assistance.
You can reactivate a found device that was suspended via iCloud.com or contact the SCAD Card office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., if deactivated by the SCAD Card Office.
All SCAD Card holders get one free replacement per academic year. Any further replacements incur a $25 replacement fee.
What do I do if my phone is out of battery?
iPhones XS and later: Express Mode with power reserve is available for up to five hours after the device's battery needs to be charged. You can press the side button to check if Express Mode is available. Doing this often may significantly reduce the power reserve for Express Mode. If you choose to power off your iPhone, this feature will not be available.
Android and iPhone 6/6 Plus to iPhone X: Your device must have battery power to use the Mobile SCAD Card.
What do I do with my plastic SCAD Card after switching to the Mobile SCAD Card?
Once you switch to the Mobile SCAD Card, your plastic SCAD card will be immediately deactivated and can no longer be used unless you are a resident of Oglethorpe House. You will keep your physical SCAD Card to enter your room.
Apple Wallet and iCloud account
What is the Mobile SCAD Card in Apple Wallet?
Mobile SCAD Card in Apple Wallet is an initiative of the SCAD Card office where your iPhone and Apple Watch can take on the functionality of your SCAD Card anywhere you would have previously used your physical card.
How do I verify my Apple Watch device version?
The series number for your Apple Watch can be found on the back of the Watch.
Note: Series 0 Apple Watch is not eligible for this program.
How do I verify and/or update my Apple Watch software version?

Where do I go for questions about my Apple ID and/or iCloud?

How do I change or recover my Apple ID password?

What happens if I get a new iPhone or Apple Watch?
Remove your mobile credential(s) from your Apple Wallet or by accessing it through your iCloud account if you no longer have the old device. You will then be able to log into the SCAD app using your SCAD credentials to activate your Mobile SCAD Card on your new device.
If replacing your current device, follow the steps below to add your Mobile SCAD Card to your new devices:
- Open the Apple Wallet on your old device.
- Select the Mobile SCAD Card pass > tap the info icon in the top right corner > select Remove Card.
- Once your old pass is removed, you can add your pass to the new device using the SCAD app.
If I have a passcode on my phone, will I have to enter it every time I use my Mobile SCAD Card?
If you are using Express Mode, you do not have to enter your password. If you are not using Express Mode, you will have to authenticate each time you access your phone.
Note: Express Mode is turned on by default.
Is there a fee for using the Mobile SCAD Card?
No, using the SCAD Card in your Apple Wallet is free.
Do I have to have a photo?
Yes, a photo is required in order to be issued any access credentials by SCAD.
Is the Mobile SCAD Card just for students?
Students, faculty, and staff are eligible if they meet all device and software requirements and have a photo on file.
I have my iPhone and Apple Watch set up with my Mobile SCAD Card, what if I lose one of them?
Your other device will continue to work without the other, however you should mark the missing device as lost.
How do I use the Mobile SCAD Card for access and meal plans from my phone?
Tap the reader with your phone with your Wallet app open instead of the physical SCAD Card.
