Residence hall wireless internet
Wireless internet is available for all students. If you have an @student.scad.edu email address, you already have access to the SCAD Wireless network.
SCAD provides two wireless networks for students to use: SCAD Secure Wireless and SCAD Wireless. SCAD Secure Wireless is primarily used for mobile devices while SCAD Wireless is intended for laptops, desktops, gaming system, smart TVs, streaming devices, virtual personal assistants (e.g., Amazon Echo), etc. Both of these networks are protected and safe to use.

To connect to SCAD Wireless on personal computers:
You will need your username (e.g., scadbee20) and your SCAD password. If you have not changed your SCAD password from your default password, then reset it before connecting to SCAD Wireless network at sso.scad.edu/password/reset/ or from within MySCAD on the MyInfo tab using the "Change SCAD Password" link.
- Make sure your computer's wireless card is turned on. Find the listing of available wireless networks and pick SCAD Wireless.
- Open your computer's internet browser.
- You will be prompted to enter your username and SCAD password.
- Click the check box next to the terms agreement to confirm you understand the rules.
- Click "Enter" and you will be connected to the SCAD wireless network.
To connect mobile devices to SCAD Secure Wireless:
- Find the listing of available wireless networks and select SCAD Secure Wireless on your device (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
- You will immediately be asked to sign in with your username and your SCAD password.
- Open your device's internet browser and you will be connected to the internet.
Adding smart devices and gaming systems to the SCAD network
To connect personal devices such as game systems, smart TVs, streaming devices, etc., to the SCAD network in residence hall rooms, you must register the device. After it has been registered, follow your device's normal instructions to set up the device.
Currently, personal wireless printers are not allowed to connect directly to the SCAD network. You must connect it with a cable, Bluetooth technology or direct connect technology. To find out which method your printer supports, contact your product's support team. Also, remember that you can print to any SCAD lab printer from your room via SCAD MyPrint.
