Under the guidance of SCAD industrial design professor Chunshik Kim, SCAD students conducted research exploring human connections to technology within the luxury retail space. Consumers indicated exclusivity, sustainability, opulence, and bespoke experiences as key parts of the in-person shopping experience. Student researchers identified solutions that enable brands to leverage emerging tech and design thinking, elevating the customer experience through features like enhanced interior design, exclusive loyalty programs, and the use of emergent technology to personalize customer interaction. These solutions present the opportunity to build unique partnerships and collaborations that transform storefronts into sought-after destinations.
