Gen Z, wellness, and creative engagement

Fall 2023 first-year college students spent nearly half of their high school education in social distancing settings necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, circumstances that resulted in one in three high school-age students experiencing poor mental health during this isolated period, according to a recent survey published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Seeking to measure how these socially distanced years of education reverberate in the present, a combined group of SCAD leaders and students surveyed the university's incoming first-year students on their aspirations and concerns attending college. Survey responses indicated a majority were eager for in-person learning and connection, among other insights.
More research
SCADask generates timely research at the intersection of commerce, creativity, and culture. With a purpose of educating the public with new insights on trending topics as well as elevating SCAD as the preeminent source of knowledge in the disciplines we teach, SCADask equips external partners to address a wide range of emergent business opportunities. Under the supervision of qualified university leaders, SCADask identifies, formulates, and tackles research questions that are relevant to SCAD disciplines and appealing to a general interest audience. The qualitative and quantitative results and strategic insights produced from SCADask research synthesize existing knowledge from SCAD programs and new research assignments with external partners.
