Join SCAD Museum of Art chief curator Daniel S. Palmer and Dia Art Foundation’s Humberto Moro as they illuminate the work and career of American Minimalist artist Dan Flavin (b. 1933, Jamaica, New York; d. 1996, Riverhead, New York). The conversation will center on SCAD MOA’s new exhibition Dan Flavin: Works from Dia Art Foundation, a focused exploration of Flavin’s practice during the period spanning 1962 to 1974, encapsulating pivotal moments and key series in the artist’s oeuvre. Serving as a testament to the enduring relationship between the artist and Dia Art Foundation, the conversation and exhibition aim to share Flavin’s historic importance with contemporary audiences and highlight the relevance of his work for a new era.
