Taught a three-week intensive ESL Advanced Conversation course to international students. Designed the curriculum of the course based on the needs survey, research-based methods, and personal experience. Incorporated teaching about sociocultural (compliments, invitations, etc.), strategic, discourse, and action competences. The end-of the course survey indicated that as a result of the course, students’ speaking skills improved, students started speaking more confidently, became more engaged when talking to new people, and acquired new habits of learning English.
