    I taught a wide variety of credit and noncredit ESL, integrated skills, and focus skills classes, levels ranging from literacy and low-beginner to high advanced. Taught critical thinking and academic prep courses, academic process writing, grammar for writing, CALL courses, vocational and workplace ESL. Was an active member of the ESL department Personnel and Technology committees. Students were from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic backgrounds, from young adults and visiting international students to elderly immigrant learners.

    For City College's Intensive English Program I taught various courses across the academic English and college preparatory curriculum. Taught Critical Thinking, American Culture, Current Events, among other elective courses, including TOEFL and TOEFL IBT test-prep courses and ESL CALL and computer lab sections. Served on the IIS ESL Curriculum committee and helped revise program curricula to integrate student learning outcomes into program course outlines. Participated in institution testing and student intake placement procedures, including holistic essay scoring and oral placement interviews.

In my final semester, I served as senior teacher, mentoring interns during their first semester teaching.

    As an English Language Fellow, I served for one year in eastern Ukraine, primarily in the central Russian-speaking city of Dnipropetrovsk. I taught first-year academic English at the National Mining University and taught classes and held workshops with various English teaching organizations in the region. Organized and led teacher training workshops for faculty at NMU as well as at universities in Lugansk and Donetsk. Participated in teacher training, diplomacy, and cultural awareness workshops organized by the U.S. State Department Office of English Language Programs in Vienna, Austria and Kiev, Ukraine. Presented at TESOL Ukraine and at regional TESOL conferences.
