Payment and room assignment

Housing guidelines

Enrolled students who are living in the residence halls during the prior spring quarter are assigned a housing selection date and time based on a number of factors, including but not limited to credit hours earned and the date their housing application is submitted.

If the authorized financial aid does not cover the balance due from housing charges, payment must be made out of pocket. Financial aid amounts may be determined by visiting MySCAD > My Info tab > My Financial Aid Channel > “My Award Information” link. If aid is in place, be sure to confirm the aid is sufficient to cover housing, as all aid is applied first toward tuition. Students who have to pay out of pocket to ensure payment by the balance due date may be eligible for a refund once the aid disburses after the drop/add period of the term. Students must adhere to SCADhome deadlines to ensure a housing assignment.

Late applicants/fees

Continuing students who cancel their SCAD housing after being assigned a room are subject to an additional US$1,000 nonrefundable cancellation fee. Students who cancel fewer than 30 days prior to the quarter in which they are scheduled to move into the residence hall are subject to a nonrefundable US$1,500 cancellation fee. Housing is subject to availability.
