Congratulations, SCAD Class of 2025! Celebrate your accomplishments at the SCAD Savannah and SCADnow Commencement ceremonies. The Presidential Conferment of Degrees and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies will take place at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah.

During the Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony, all graduates, faculty, and guests will unite to hear remarks from a guest commencement speaker, outstanding graduates, and SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace. Graduates will receive their degrees as they cross the stage during the school-specific Presentation of Degrees ceremonies. For those unable to attend in person, all ceremonies will be live streamed on the main commencement page.

SCADnow (eLearning) graduates are invited to participate in Savannah's Presidential Conferment of Degrees and Presentation of Degrees ceremony. All other students can participate in the ceremonies at the SCAD location where they are enrolled.

Ticket allotment
Each graduate will be allotted two (2) guest tickets for the Savannah Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony. Each graduate will be allotted four (4) guest tickets to their designated Presentation of Degrees ceremony.

SCAD does not regulate the private redistribution of tickets and strictly forbids the sale of commencement tickets.

Graduates will receive an email with a link to claim graduation tickets from Tassel (formerly Marching Order) by Friday, May 2.

When is the deadline to order a cap and gown?
The deadline to order a cap and gown is Monday, April 7, 2025. We encourage students to place their orders ahead of this deadline to ensure they receive them before the ceremony.

Do I need a cap and gown to participate?
A cap and gown are required to participate in the Presidential Conferment and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies.

Where do I submit requests for ADA seating?
For any special seating requests for graduates and guests, email events@scad.edu. Be sure to include your name and SCAD ID number.

When can graduates expect to receive their diplomas?
Graduates will receive a congratulatory letter from President Wallace inside their SCAD diploma cover during the ceremony. The actual diploma will be mailed once spring grades are submitted and the student's graduation requirements are confirmed. Graduates can expect to receive their diploma within 12 weeks of commencement at the mailing address they provided on their graduation application.

Can I share with my friends and family?
Yes, your friends and family can livestream graduation on the main commencement page. You can also share your experience using #SCADGRAD and by following @scaddotedu.

Where do I park?
Graduates and guests may bring one car per group. Since parking is limited, alternative transportation (i.e., ferries, SCAD shuttles, and rideshare) is strongly encouraged. Pre-register for parking here. Pre-registration does not guarantee a space. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking at the Savannah Convention Center is $20. 

Ferries
Ferries are available from River Street as an alternative method of transportation. The capacity of ferries is limited per trip — please factor in travel time for a prompt arrival. Parking is available at the Bryan Street Parking Garage, 100 E. Bryan St., and the Whitaker Street Parking Garage, 7 Whitaker St.

Are you providing transportation from SCAD?
SCAD will provide shuttles for graduates from all residence halls on commencement day. Additional shuttles will be provided for faculty, staff, and guests from Oglethorpe House. Shuttle services will run from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

City of Savannah garages will be available for parking. The nearest parking for shuttle pickups includes the Robinson Parking Garage at 132 Montgomery St., the Visitor Center at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and the Liberty Street Parking Garage at 301 W. Liberty St.*

*The Liberty Street Parking Garage does not have elevators.

Graduates should plan to arrive at the venue an hour and a half prior to the start of their Presentation of Degrees ceremony.

What time should guests plan to arrive?
Doors will open 90 minutes before the 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ceremonies, and one hour before the 11 a.m. ceremonies.

What is the Savannah Convention Center’s security policy?
All guests must pass through a metal detector or wand to ensure the safety of guests.

What is the bag policy?
Large bags, including but not limited to backpacks, suitcases, large camera bags, and large purses, are not allowed in the venue. Clutches 4.5 x 6.5 inches or smaller, diaper bags, medical bags, and CLEAR bags no larger than 14 x 14 x 6 inches (two pockets maximum) are permitted. All bags, purses, and packages are subject to inspection before entry to the venue.
