Paola A. Badillo Pont thesis exhibition: 'Inner Loom'

In her thesis exhibition Inner Loom, Paola A. Badillo Pont (M.F.A. painting) explores the intersection of spiritual abstraction and self-expression through painting, needle-punching, felting, and drawing. In this collection of works Badillo delves into the liminal forces that shape our interior worlds. Interweaving form, color, and energy, her depictions of chakras offer visual representations of deep emotional landscapes and internal conflicts.

Badillo’s works begin as small ideations on paper, which she then transforms in scale and materiality by hand-dyeing surfaces and incorporating textural elements. Through her meditative practice, energy flows freely between artist and artwork, with each work serving as a bridge between the physical and the intangible, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the unknowingness of existence. Profoundly embedded in the nexus of art, matter, and spirituality, Inner Loom reminds us that the unseen is always present, waiting to be revealed, as the process of creating and understanding is ever unfolding.

Opening reception: Friday, April 11, 5–7 p.m.
