'Minions: The Rise of Gru'
Panelists: Richard Adenot, CG supervisor, Illumination Entertainment Paris, and Jonathan del Val, co-director, Minions: The Rise of Gru

From the biggest global animated franchise in history comes the origin story of how the world’s greatest supervillain first met his iconic Minions, forged cinema's most despicable crew, and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled. 

The screening is preceded by a curated filmmaker conversation with Illumination Entertainment.

Haute Couture: Pioneering Fashion in the Metaverse
Panelists: Julien Fournié, creative director of Julien Fournié Haute Couture, and Jean Paul Cauvin, chief operating officer of Julien Fournié Haute Couture

Paris fashion designer Julien Fournié is considered one of the most avant-garde couturiers of his generation. A pioneer since 2011 in the integration of haute couture outfits reimagined for video game platforms and virtual runways, Julien Fournié Haute Couture is renowned for utilizing the digital world to forge new paths, test fresh aesthetics, and create a hub for the fashion-design tools of tomorrow. In this illuminating session, Fournié and Chief Operating Officer Jean Paul Cauvin will explore the bridge between traditional high fashion and the ultra-innovation of the metaverse where no other couturier has gone before.

'Little Nicholas: Happy as Can Be'

Somewhere between Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny lean over a large, white sheet of paper and bring to life a mischievous and endearing boy, Little Nicholas. From schoolyard games and fights to summer camp pranks and camaraderie, Nicholas lives a merry and enriching childhood. As the adventures of Nicholas and his friends unfold, the boy makes his way into his creators' workshop and light-heartedly questions them. Sempé and Goscinny recount the story of their friendship, career, and reveal a childhood filled with hopes and dreams. The screening will be followed by a reprise of the SCAD Student Showcase.

SCAD AnimationFest Celebration

Mix and mingle with other SCAD AnimationFest Lacoste attendees on the lawn of Maison Basse, the historic farmhouse, inn, and famed gambling den that is now the centerpiece of SCAD's stunning study abroad location. Local food trucks will offer a variety of options for purchase.

Genndy Tartakovsky’s 'Primal'
Presented by Julien Chheng, co-founder, director, and producer, Studio La Cachette

Primal, created and directed by Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars creator Genndy Tartakovsky, follows a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur threatened with extinction, who forge a bond after they endure individual tragedies. Their extraordinary friendship becomes the only hope of survival in this violent and primitive world.

The screening is preceded by a behind-the-scenes presentation from Studio La Cachette.
