Step back in time with 'The Gilded Age' costume designers on 'Guests and Gusto'

Join costume designers Kasia Walicka-Maimone and Isabelle Simone for an unraveling of the more than 5,000 custom-designed looks seen throughout the first season of the HBO Max series The Gilded Age. Magnificent textiles and stunning details allow Walicka-Maimone and Simone’s costume designs to tell the complicated story of feuding class hierarchy caused by socioeconomics and the clashing of old and new money in New York’s post-industrial boom. Listen as they share the inspirations and references behind their authentic character looks.

Kasia Walicka-Maimone is a costume designer whose work spans theater, film, and television. Credits include HBO’s I Know This Much Is True, Netflix’s The Pale Blue Eye, A Quiet Place Part 1 & 2, Moonrise Kingdom, Foxcatcher, Deepwater Horizon, and the Philip Glass operas Les Enfants Terribles and The Sound of a Voice. Isabelle Simone is a New York-based costume designer with experience in theater, television, and film. Her credits include The Greatest Showman, The Irishman, Fosse/Verdon (nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Period Costume Design), West Side Story, and The Pale Blue Eye.
