Accreditation and student achievement

The interior design program leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design at SCAD Atlanta and SCAD Savannah is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, www.accredit-id.org, 206 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW, Suite 350, Grand Rapids, MI, 49503.

The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design granted by the Savannah College of Art and Design meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam). Per CIDA guidelines, SCAD provides the following student achievement data for those pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design.

Retention and Attrition Rates:

  • 96% of SCAD Savannah students enrolled during the Spring 2023 quarter graduated or returned for Fall 2023, which represents a 4% attrition rate.
  • 91% of SCAD Atlanta students enrolled during the Spring 2023 quarter graduated or returned for Fall 2023, which represents an 8% attrition rate.

Graduation Rates:

  • For the class of 2023, 100% of SCAD Savannah's interior design department graduated within six years.
  • For the class of 2023, 100% of SCAD Atlanta's interior design department graduated within six years.

Employment Rates:

SCAD's alumni follow-up study is conducted annually by the office of institutional assessment to ascertain the employment and continuing education information of spring quarter graduates.

  • Sixty-nine students graduated from SCAD Savannah with an interior design B.F.A. degree in Spring 2023. Data was obtained for 55 of these alumni, of which 100% were employed and/or seeking further education within twelve months of graduation. Of those employed, 98% were working in creative fields related to their SCAD education.
  • Sixteen students graduated from SCAD Atlanta with an interior design B.F.A. degree in Spring 2023. Data was obtained for 10 of these alumni, of which 100% were employed and/or seeking further education within twelve months of graduation. Of those employed, 100% were working in creative fields related to their SCAD education.
