Monthly Housing Allowance and book stipends

Payment times for the Monthly Housing Allowance, or MHA, and book stipends are determined by the VA. SCAD typically submits the enrollment hours to the VA around four weeks before the beginning of each term. Once the VA has processed the enrollment hours, it will issue the payments at the appropriate time. Book stipends are usually paid 10–14 days before the beginning of the term, and the MHA is paid on the first of each month after the term has started. All payments made by the VA are prorated based on the student's enrollment status and prorated based on the days of the term.
