Omitting senior year
Applicants are encouraged to complete high school or earn a certificate of General Educational Development before entering SCAD. Exceptions to the general rules of admission may be made for applicants of motivation and ability. Such an applicant may be admitted at the end of the junior year in high school, omitting the senior year, if the applicant has a grade-point average of 3.5 or above through grade 11, if SAT or ACT scores are above the national average, and if the applicant's guidance counselor and teacher recommend admission. To be accepted for admission, the applicant must demonstrate an advanced level of maturity, leadership, and responsibility. Juniors who wish to be considered for full-time admission must follow the application requirements for first-time first-year students. A high school diploma or GED certificate is required for federal financial aid eligibility.
