The art history minor builds upon a common foundation to craft a customized program of study in global visual and material culture. Students pursue advanced undergraduate courses and seminars devoted to the history, theory, and criticism of art and design in order to enhance individual professional pursuits. Classroom experiences offer students opportunities to deeply explore topics aligned to their creative interests and provide direct encounters with international artists, critics, curators, and scholars as well as study abroad opportunities.

* Electives must be distributed in four out of five concentrations: ancient/medieval, early modern, modern, contemporary, non-Western. One elective must be in non-Western.
