Professor of interior design, Aug. 2020–present, Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta, GA
Working with both undergraduate and graduate students, I am responsible for preparing the next generation of interior designers. Developing critical thinking skills is my primary objective as a full-time professor and a member of the Creative and Critical Learning Council. Cultivating an environment to challenge students to question the obvious, connect research and theory to design, and empathize with the users is my objective for every class. I participate on 12 thesis committees (chair of seven) where students generate data, apply theory, and create innovative and responsive design solutions. The resource room and student staff are also under my supervision, providing an opportunity to investigate emerging materials. Collaborating and fostering relationships with industry is another key objective of my work. My research focuses on failure and fear, which limits creativity and innovation. My goal is to ignite in students a thirst for creating that is not limited by outcomes but rather indelibly linked to their purpose and passion.

As a sales associate, my primary responsibility was to generate business. I developed a strategic plan to meet my specific goals including the number of units I transacted and the number of relationships I created to build my database. That was the primary accountability I had to my business. I also leveraged the education and training provided by KW to grow my business quickly and sustainably. I enjoyed building relationships with my customers and helping them reach their real estate goals.
