Christian Dior: Jardins Rêvés

The SCAD FASH Lacoste museum proudly presents Christian Dior: Jardins Rêvés, created and organized exclusively by Christian Dior Couture in collaboration with SCAD. Curated by Hélène Starkman, exhibition curator for Christian Dior Couture, and organized by Rafael Gomes, creative director of SCAD FASH museums, and Ariel Stark, assistant director of fashion exhibitions and operations. The exhibition design draws inspiration from Dior’s upbringing in Normandy, which has, in turn, inspired the house’s most iconic garments. The exhibition spans the 78-year history of the house, featuring ensembles and accessories designed by founder Christian Dior and his successors including Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, and Maria Grazia Chiuri. With its expansive lavender fields and myriad floral varieties, the Provençal landscape in Lacoste and the Luberon region serve as a rich backdrop to this delightful exploration of one of France’s most famed couturiers.

Unfold by DRIFT

Translating the body's rhythmic data into infinite variations of botanical geometries, Unfold immerses viewers in a dynamic audio-visual experience, fusing biological, ecological, and digital design. Viewers are guided into a state of sensory alignment, inviting deep reflections on the symbiotic dance between the natural world and the human form. Produced specially for SCAD Lacoste by the Dutch collective DRIFT, Unfold embodies the studio's ethos to reconnect to the phenomena of life and explore the potential of possible futures through experiential mediums.

Studio Bee 100% Made by SCAD alumni showcase

This curated selection of works by SCAD alumni highlights the exceptional breadth and intellectual rigor of the university's top-ranked fashion program. The collections on display traverse a spectrum of thematic explorations, ranging from the enduring narratives of classic literature to nuanced interpretations of Chinese and Panamanian cultural heritage. These collections demonstrate not only the designers' technical proficiency but also their ability to engage deeply with diverse cultural and historical contexts. Making their first public appearance since the prestigious SCAD FASHION runway presentation in Savannah in 2024, these collections serve as a powerful testament to the unique, evolving voices of emerging designers. The exhibition offers profound insight into the future trajectory of fashion, emphasizing both innovation and preservation of cultural narratives within the design process.

Musée SCAD Lacoste

The university will debut the first phase of Musée SCAD Lacoste, chronicling the fascinating history and culture of the village as well as its transformation into the university’s European outpost. Through local artifacts and visual storytelling, the new museum shares the journey to establishing this flourishing center of creative study and culture, welcoming thousands of students, artists, designers, and visitors to live, learn, and be inspired amid the beauty of the Luberon.

SCAD Alumni Atelier Rue des Artistes

Conceptualized and personally endowed by SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace, the university’s Alumni Atelier residency program offers visionary graduates the time, space, resources, and business education to thrive creatively and professionally. Visitors are welcomed to traverse the Rue des Artistes where this elite roster of Alumni Atelier ambassadors showcase their creative practices from evocative studio environments set within SCAD Lacoste’s medieval caves.

To commemorate the season opening, SCAD Lacoste will host an exclusive celebration Wednesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. in Parc de SCAD with featured artists and collaborators from DRIFT and Christian Dior before opening to the public Thursday, May 8. Throughout the opening week, the university will host exclusive talks and class engagements for SCAD students from an array of the university's globally ranked degree programs as part of their immersive study abroad experience, infusing the village with an abundance of creativity and energy.
