Annual security and fire safety report

The annual security and fire safety report contains annual crime logs, missing person policies and fire safety logs. Annual reports are published online with additional safety and security resources and in the SCAD Savannah security office and the Atlanta Student Success Center.

SCAD will provide a paper copy of these reports upon request.

Timely warning reports

SCAD ensures an effective, open and appropriate response to any emergency scenario through the use of the SCAD Alert System, a comprehensive multi-platform notification system to alert students and families in a timely manner via online notifications, phone calls and text messages. In addition, the new SCAD app provides instant access to all of the university's safety and security services.

Missing person notification policy

The statement of policy regarding missing student notification procedures for students is available in the annual security and fire safety reports published online with additional safety and security resources and in the policies section of the student handbook found on the Resources tab in MySCAD, the university's online information portal.

Information for crime victims about disciplinary hearings

Upon written request, SCAD discloses to the alleged victim of any crime of violence or a non-forcible sex offense the results of any disciplinary proceeding conducted by the institution against a student who is the alleged perpetrator of such crime or offense.

Drug and alcohol abuse prevention program

Information regarding SCAD's complete drug and alcohol policy is available in the student handbook under Drug and Alcohol Policy and in the corresponding policy in the staff and faculty handbooks. In compliance with the requirements of the HEOA, each student and each employee provides an electronic signature attesting that they have received a copy of a handbook. This information contains descriptions of applicable legal sanctions, description of health risks, and available counseling, treatment, rehabilitation and re-entry programs. Students and faculty can access the handbook on the Resources tab in MySCAD, the university’s online information portal.

Vaccination policies

SCAD does not require vaccinations. However, SCAD does provide information about meningococcal disease as required by Georgia Code 31-12-3.2.
