SCAD sculpture alumnus Masud Olufani

Masud Olufani (M.F.A., sculpture, 2013) is drawn to authentic stories and the social constructs people navigate. He reflects this with the visual language of art, inviting the viewer to journey with him. A solo exhibitor at the SCAD Museum of Art, Olufani grew up admiring the work of Jacob Lawrence and Carrie Mae Weems. He advises young artists to surround themselves with people who believe in you until you believe in yourself.
