'Dress Up Story — 1990 Until Now'

SCAD’s short-form documentary profiles iconic fashion designer and activist Dame Vivienne Westwood and the SCAD Museum of Art's 2015 premiere retrospective exhibition of her life's work. This inspiring filmic portrait provides an inside look at the aesthetic and design philosophies behind Westwood's creative process.

Westwood's work is embedded in the issues and culture of its time, ranging from her well-known participation in shaping the punk movement in London to her work as an activist for environmental issues. Westwood's work has remained anchored in history as she skillfully draws from the past to deconstruct and rearrange elements into new and surprising creative designs.

'Dress Up Story — 1990 Until Now’ offers exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Westwood and the SCAD curatorial process, and serves as a compelling glimpse of an international fashion legend. The film was directed by SCAD alum Eli Born (B.F.A., film and television, 2006) and was produced in conjunction with SCAD students and alumni.
