SCADcast: 'On Creativity' with Robert Wilson at deFINE ART 2020

The Deafening Character of Silence ... The modern pantheon of theater styles reflects how rapidly art and culture evolved in the 20th century. This prolific era gave birth to some of the finest theatrical artists we will ever know, including Robert Wilson — an artist in the truest sense. Wilson holds many titles. He is a director, designer, actor, sculptor, author, illustrator — and much more. His creative abilities are as endless as the conversations spurred by his iconic productions.

Wilson is revered for his masterful interplay of light and shadow, movement and stillness, sound and silence. During SCAD deFINE ART 2020, he enthralled the SCAD community with a performative lecture and rare insight into his creative process. After the performance, SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace sat down with Wilson to further discuss his aesthetic, his formative background, and his methods for constructing powerful moments onstage.
