Ovation for Oscar

Produced by SCAD with Compadres in Cahoots, the documentary Ovation for Oscar chronicles the creation of the exhibition Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style, as it was prepared exclusively for the SCAD Museum of Art by André Leon Talley. This intimate look behind the scenes reveals the nuances and sophistication of the demanding, deadline-oriented work of fashion photographers, white-gloved art handlers, and discerning curators as they research, assess, mount, and produce a major museum exhibition honoring the late designer and cultural icon.

Executive produced by SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace and presented by SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film, Ovation for Oscar is directed by SCAD alumnus Ryan Curtis. A collaboration among more than 20 SCAD students and alumni, the film represents one of many unique channels through which SCAD champions their work and careers.
