Autour du Bal
Commissioned on the occasion of the SCAD exhibition Fête de la Mode in the caves of Lacoste, France, this cinematic revelry captures the splendor of couture garments designed by SCAD fashion students and alumni.
Lush, rolling woodlands. Mountainous vistas. An ancient village château. Across the fabled Provençal landscape, follow the fateful encounters of a mystical retinue of new bohemians — a coterie of dreamers, opulent in technicolor adornment; chic marionettes brought to stunning life.
Rollicking carefree by day in this picturesque mise-en-scène, lit by fire and moon at a nightfall soirée, the young merrymakers dance and delight, shrouded in mystery, free. What magic awaits them, beyond the ball?
Produced by SCAD and presented by SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film, Autour du Bal is directed by Marcel Wepper. Featuring garments and designs by SCAD alumni, the film represents one of many unique channels through which SCAD champions their work and careers.
